LUXMAN L-505Z
This fantastic integrated amplifier has been designed in honor of the L-505 amplifier series, which continues to captivate audiophiles as perhaps the most famous hi-fi model from LUXMAN. Furthermore, the L-505Z is equipped with the newly developed “LIFES” amplifier feedback engine, which forms the core of LUXMAN's contemporary designs. The LUXMAN L-505Z succeeds the highly praised LUXMAN L-505UXII.

Although it inherits all the high-quality sound and design expertise from the more expensive models, the L-505Z has taken even further strides as a multifunctional integrated amplifier. The L-505Z redefines the standard, entering a new era and inviting you into the world of exciting high-end audio.

The LUXMAN L-505Z is considered the so-called ‘entry-level model’, but don’t be misled—this amplifier holds its own against the larger L-507Z and L-509Z. This applies to both the sound quality and the tone, which is characterized as refined and detailed. Music comes to life and sweeps you into all its facets without ever becoming tiring.

Our Experience
At Listening Matters, we’ve become huge fans of the LUXMAN L-505Z. From the moment the amplifier arrived at our showroom on Borneolaan, we’ve been amazed at what this integrated amplifier is capable of. It’s no surprise that the L-505Z is often featured at our listening events, where it has already ‘captivated’ many visitors. We’ve also placed several units in audiophiles’ homes, and the feedback has been unanimous: “What a beautiful amplifier.”

Its versatility is also widely praised. This is especially due to the Phono input, which is compatible with both MM and MC cartridges. The headphone outputs (both balanced and single-ended) are also receiving much acclaim! Additionally, the LUXMAN L-505Z can drive virtually all types of speakers, even very demanding ones, as we recently experienced with a customer’s setup; plenty of power!

LIFES
The LUXMAN L-505Z, like the L-507Z and L-509Z, is equipped with LIFES technology, literally bringing music to life. By only feeding back the distorted components generated during the journey of the audio signal to the power amplifier, the LUXMAN L-505Z achieves a natural sound quality that feels as if it were a 'non-feedback' system.

LECUA
LECUA stands for Luxman Electronically Controlled Ultimate Attenuator, which is an electronically controlled volume adjustment system that switches a series of high-quality fixed-value resistors independently for each channel. In 88 steps, LECUA adjusts the volume, minimizing variations in the sound signal and allowing fine volume control even with the remote control. Moreover, this system is aging-resistant, as it does not use a traditional potentiometer.

Power
You could simply say: more than enough. However, this would not do the L-505Z justice. The amplifier is built around a 540V power transformer combined with four 10,000μF capacitors. This results in 100 watts of power at 8 ohms and 150 watts at 4 ohms.

Headphone Output
In addition to the dual speaker outputs, the LUXMAN L-505Z also features a headphone output. On the front panel of the amplifier, you’ll find two outputs: a 4.4mm Balanced Pentacon and a 6.3mm Single-Ended headphone output.

Inputs
The LUXMAN L-505Z is a fully analog amplifier. It comes with one balanced (XLR) input and four RCA inputs. Vinyl lovers will be pleased to know that the L-505Z is equipped with a built-in MM/MC phono preamp that sounds absolutely fantastic.

Aesthetic Adjustments
The LUXMAN L-505Z has undergone significant technical upgrades compared to its predecessor, while the aesthetics have also been refreshed. The VU meter lighting is now white (which can be turned on or off). Additionally, the four small knobs have been redesigned and now fit visually into the overall look of the amplifier.
