The new McIntosh C2700 tube preamplifier now also features the advanced DA2 Digital Audio Converter.
With this advanced DA-2 module, it is possible to combine digital music sources with the proven performance of vacuum tubes.
A worthy successor to the popular DA1 Digital Audio Module, the DA2 offers an extensive range of capabilities. The DA2 provides 7 digital inputs, including the same connections as the DA1 (2 coaxial, 2 optical, 1 USB, and 1 MCT) plus a new "audio-only" HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC)1 connection. TVs with a compatible HDMI (ARC) output can be connected to the C2700 to enjoy the sound of your TV through your home audio system.
Dolby® and DTS®Popular multichannel audio formats from Dolby® and DTS® are supported and will be expertly converted to 2-channel audio for accurate playback. The TV remote control can control the power and volume of the C2700 when CEC communication is enabled in both the preamplifier and the TV. In addition to these new HDMI (ARC) features in the DA2, the USB input has increased DSD playback support to DSD512 compared to the DSD256 limit of the DA1.
The DA2 is powered by a next-generation, audiophile-quality, Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit DAC with improvements in both dynamic range and total harmonic distortion compared to the DA1.
The coaxial and optical inputs in the DA2 can decode digital music up to 24-bit/192kHz for high-resolution audio playback. Finally, the DA2 has a McIntosh exclusive MCT input that provides a secure DSD connection to one of our MCT series SACD/CD transports to deliver the best possible sound quality from your SACDs' high-definition audio.
Analog
For analog music, the C2700 has 9 inputs consisting of 3 balanced connections, 4 unbalanced connections, along with 1 MC and 1 MM phono inputs for connecting one or two turntables. With a total of 16 inputs, the C2700 has virtually an infinite number of inputs to connect all your music sources. The dual-chassis design keeps the analog and digital sections separate to prevent signal corruption. Outputs include 3 variable balanced and 3 variable unbalanced plus 1 fixed unbalanced connection.
Bass and treble tone controls are included and can be adjusted in 2dB steps.
The ¼” headphone jack is powered by the High Drive headphone amplifier that can power almost any headphone; Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD®) is included and adds an extra dimension to your personal listening session when activated.
Home Theater Pass Through
With Home Theater Pass Through, the C2700 can be seamlessly integrated into your home theater system. Power Control ports allow you to easily turn on and off other connected McIntosh components, while the Data Ports can send remote control commands to connected source components.
Roon
The C2700 is one of the many McIntosh products that have received the Roon Tested designation from Roon Labs. It has been profiled and tested by both Roon and McIntosh for maximum compatibility. Roon will recognize the system and send the audio optimized for its capabilities. No hassle with checkboxes or dropdown lists, Roon Tested devices are automatically identified and configured for a superior customer experience.
All of the audio technology of the C2700 is packaged in the timeless McIntosh design, highlighted by a black glass front panel illuminated by direct LED lighting, blue meters, rotary knobs, an illuminated logo, aluminum end caps, and a polished stainless steel chassis. The 6 seductive vacuum tubes can be viewed through a glass panel on top of the preamplifier. It can be combined with a range of amplifiers, CD players, turntables, tuners, media streamers, power controllers, and speakers to complete your home audio system.
